Below is the current Continuing Education Policy from HWI. Please note that HWI requires all practitioners report their annual CE activities to their RPA (in this case the Canadian Hellerwork Association) as part of the yearly renewal process. Your RPA requires the following:

Hellerwork International
CONTINUING EDUCATION (CE) HOURS POLICY 2024
Active Hellerwork®® practitioners are required to earn a minimum of 24 CE hours for each 2-year cycle. HWI offers the following options for earning CE hours:
- ATTEND an educational event related to Hellerwork®® and/or Structural Integration topic.
- ATTEND an educational event related to a topic that will enhance a practitioner’s Hellerwork® practice including business, computer and communication skills.
- ATTEND Hellerwork®® International and/ or RPA CEW and/or IASI Symposium.
- ATTEND a Hellerwork® HWI, RPA and/or Faculty meeting. 1 CE hour per meeting. Does not include attendance by proxy. Limit 18 CE hours per 2yr cycle.
- PARTICIPATE on a Hellerwork® board or 1 CE hour per body per year.
- TEACH an educational event related to Hellerwork® and/or Structural Integration topics. Submit name of event, number of hours you taught, who put on the event, how many attended, and were attendees general public and/or professionals. 1 CE hour for each hour of teaching.
- AUTHOR a published article or book about Hellerwork® and/or Structural Integration. 3 CE hours for an 18 CE hours for a book.
- PUBLISH Hellerwork® and/or Structural Integration research. 18 CE hours.
- RECEIVE a Hellerwork® or SI session from another Hellerwork® or Structural Integration practitioner. 1 CE hour per Limit 8 CE hours per 2yr cycle
- GIVE a Hellerwork® session to another Hellerwork® or Structural Integration practitioner. 1 CE hour per Limit 8 CE hours per 2-year cycle
- COMPLETE A Hellerwork® HOME STUDY PROGRAM where the practitioner plans to study using books, articles, DVD/video, or practical elements, such as dissection, viewing operations, and/or case studies, as resources relevant to Hellerwork® and Structural Integration topics, in order to write a two- page The practitioner submits a proposal, including resources to be used and intended topic, to the CE Committee for approval and allocation of an appropriate number of CE hours to be assigned upon completion. This paper can include what practitioner learned during the process and how that applies to his/her Hellerwork® sufficient to be posted as a resource for other Practitioners. The CE Committee will resolve any questions about appropriateness
- DEVELOP AS A MEMBER OF FACULTY. If accepted into the Faculty Track, learning activities related to training materials can be counted as CE hours. These are to be recorded and submitted, including: name of material, author or instructor, # of hours. 1 CEU credited per hour.
Special circumstances:
CE Committee will include your RPA President and 2 additional appointed Board members. Please send CE Credit Extension requests to your RPA President for review.
- For new graduates – CE requirement starts 12 months after completion of internship and For the first year of the current 2-year cycle, the number of CE hours are prorated at 1.5 for each month left in that calendar year.
- For previously certified members, who are being re-certified – no CE hours are required at the time of rejoining. Full 24 CE hours will be required if entering at the start of a new 2-year cycle, or prorated to the number of months remaining in the current 2-year cycle if entering mid cycle.
- Carry over of CE hours over 24 hours earned in one 2-year cycle to be credited towards the next 2-year cycle may be applied for to the CE Committee (Max 18 hours can be credited). Letter must designate the special circumstances. Extension limited to the next 2-year cycle.
- Practitioners who did not complete all the required CE hours for the current 2-year cycle may apply to the CE Committee for an extension. The extension will be limited to one year only and allows the practitioner to earn the balance of the CE hours owing during the next calendar year (in addition to the CE hours due for the new 2-year cycle). Repeated requests for extensions are discouraged.
5. Hardship consideration is available for practitioners undergoing economic distress, family constraints or other temporary stresses that make completing CE requirements difficult. Cases are evaluated by the CE Committee on an individual basis. A detailed explanation of the situation is required. We ask for special considerations to be requested by December 31st for time allowance to properly evaluate your circumstances and support you fully in your membership renewal process for the following February.
